The Stones Play It Rich in China

jagger_china.jpgThe Rolling Stones, after 30 years of trying, finally made it to China, where they had long been banned, but they couldn't tell the audience "Let's Spend the Night Together" or share "Brown Sugar."

"Bitch" was ok with the censors. Go figure.

Jagger said he didn't care, because they have 4000 songs to choose from besides the ones that were banned.

They don't have to go to China to get censored; they were censored right here, in the US, in 2006.

I was more interested to read that the bulk of the concert's audience (iirc) were made up of expats - not the average Chinese person - because the ticket prices were so high. Three months wage of an average citizen is what I read...

It would have been nice if the Stones could've put on a 'break even' show, and skipped their typical huge profits, so the masses could have had a chance to see their act.

If they wanted to play to a crowd if Brits, Americans and Aussies, they could've done that in the States...
