Ideas Mean Nothing. It's Execution That Matters

By B.L. Ochman One of the questions I am often asked when I speak about corporate blogging is whether it is dangerous to give away so much informaton. My answer is "absolutely not." Ideas, without the right people to execute them, mean nothing.

The more information I have given away, the more great opportunity has come to me.

I have really found that true in my experience and thought slso.

When I think of Southwest Airlines for example, pretty much everybody understand the "idea" of what their culture is and the underlying thoughts behind why they run it the way they do.

Yet, for the most part, none in the industry are able to implement the same success.

We could talk of successful company after successful company and the same thing is true.

Giving away information at speaking engagements has resulted in consulting clients.

Giving away information at my blog has resulted in links all over the Internet.

Giving away information in my weekly ezine results in lots of product sales, and the ezine is now my primary revenue generator.

But more importantly, giving away information creates an emotional attachment with readers, many of whom turn into customers. I can't remember who said it, but the quote goes like this: "People will forget what you said, but they'll never forget how you made them feel."
