Commerce Bank: Unethical Customer Policy, Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!

Commerce Bank: Liar, liar, pants on fire. A huge sign in the window of every Commerce Bank branch in New York City declares: "Your money faster. Deposit 'til 6. Next Day Availability." Except when it's not.

I went to a Commerce branch in Flat Iron and gave the teller a deposit at 4 p.m. She said, "Just so you know, I'm working on tomorrow, so this won't be credited today." I protested: "But the sign says "Your money faster. Deposit 'til 6. Next Day Availability."

That's true, she said, but not at every teller.

Jeez, all they need is a little sign the teller can put up that says, "Deposits made at this window before 6 PM will NOT be credited today. Please see teller at Window X." Then, Commerce Bank wouldn't be lying to its customers.

Hey, aren't there laws about stuff like this?
