Saxophonist Michael Brecker Needs a Bone Marrow or Blood Cell Transplant. Can You Help?
The extraordinary saxophonist Michael Brecker, who has played with James Taylor, Chick Corea, Aerosmith, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, and Elton John, and who has received 11 Grammy awards - more than any other saxophonist -- is in dire need of a bone marrow or blood stem cell transplant (not embryonic stem cells). He has a blood disease called myelodysplastic syndrome, aka MDS. (In case you've never had a syndrome, that's what doctors call things when they have no idea what to do about them.) He's been deathly ill for many months, but is hanging in so far.
