Rocket Boom eBay Auction Show That Bigger Money Wants to Get into the New Media Game At Last

rocketboom_logo.jpgThe winning bid in the eBay acution for five days of advertising on Rocket Boom is $40,000. (My guess was that the reserve was $25K) Congratulations to them!

Businessweek's Blogspotting says Rocket Boom co-founder Andrew Baron was surprised at how many big companies bid. I'm not.

The success of new media marketing and blog advertising campaigns like Brian Clark's ground-breaking Art of the Heist for Audi and the Up Your Budget Treasure Hunt that I recently created for Budget Car Rental made a lot of big companies want to dip a toe in the waters.

Blogads reported its first 1000-blog buy two weeks ago. Madison Avenue, however, remains clueless about what works in blog advertising, so a lot of pioneers will surely get shot.
