A Clever Book-Selling Tactic by Andy Wibbels

Andy Wibbels has an extremely clever marketing gimmick for selling his upcoming book, Blog Wild. In a 20-page PDF preview of the book, there is a button to push to put a reminder to buy it on April 6th into your Outlook Calendar.

He intends to push the book into best seller status on Amazon by getting many people to buy the book the day it comes out, April 6th.

While I wish Wibbels the best of luck, I'm already sick of books about business blogging and scores more are scheduled for release. Looks like everyone and her dog will have written a blog book by the end of the year.

There goes my idea of writing a blog book...

I had *just* downloaded Andy Wibbel's 20-page PDF when I found this post. BL, I like your thinking and your way of expression. Three random thoughts come to mind, following the spirit of your post:

1. Bizblooks, bizblooks, roly-poly bizblooks (to the tune of "Music of the Night" from Phantom ... perhaps there's a song in there somewhere).

2. Hey, maybe I ought to crank out a book about books about business blogging - then you wouldn't have to read any more of them except mine!

3. My wife and I ought to go get a dog so we can have it write such a book. We've only got 11 months to publish!

Thanks for your blog.
