Wink Launches Search Engine That Includes Tag Results
Wink has launched the public beta of its search engine that incorporates tag results from multiple sources including del.icio.us, Digg, Yahoo! My Web with search results from Google.
Wink allows users to tag results directly its search results. For example, I entered "homeopathic veterinarian" into the Wink search and got a list of sites that have been recommended "by people."
My blog post about homeopathic vet Dr Jill Elliot came up in the results: 10 of which were from Wink and 17,200 of which were from Google.
You then look at the sites in the Wink results, and, if you like one, click on the star next to the listing to recommend it and tag it. If you think a link should be returned with this search, you just tag it with (downloadable) Wink tag and it should come up in the next search results on that topic. Once you download the Wink tag, you also can create tags for any page you visit from your browser.
Sound complicated? It's easier to use than to describe. Very interesting technology, venture backed. This is one to watch.
