Why Aren't Our Schools Teaching About the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?

On December 10, 1948 the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Article 1.

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

That pretty much says it all. Hey! Mr Bush! Dust this off and read it. You too Mr. Bloomberg. After all, you gained control of the New York City Schools and you bragged about it. Why isn't this in the curriculum?

Italian schools are somewhat ahead. In elementary, my daughter studied the UN's Convention on the Rights of the Child
