Hundreds of people who'd never encountered blogs before commented on the Up Your Budget Treasure Hunt blog campaign I created for Budget Car Rental. The campaign was the first to give thousands of people author priviliges which allowed them to create entries and upload photos, videos, and other artwork to a moderated Treasure Hunters Blog.
It's easy for those of us who are blog savvy to forget that words like "Permalink" and "Trackback" are jargon to the uninitiated. To maximize participation we needed to de-mystify blogging for blog newbies and the blog-phobic among the more than one million unique visitors to the site. So I wrote a simple blog primer, "Hey What's a Blog." The page has been among the site's most popular.
Thanks for this post and access to a great reference tool.
I've added this post to Tuesdays' (11/29) review of blog posts worth reading. A summary of all the great blog posts for the day can be found at the"Much Ado About Marketing" blog.
