Blogger Takes on NYT Chief Food Critic's Fish Stories

I've always thought it unfair that one reviewer at the paper of record could make or break a restaurant or play. Why not have at least two reviewers review each? And why not allow comments from readers. Well, blogs provide that kind of checks and balances for mainstream media, which is one of their main strengths. Now blogger Julia Langbein is self-appointed chief mocker of NY Times Chief Food Critic Frank Bruni.

Yes - this is shows how bloggers can present checks and balances to reviewers but in this case she's coming close to making a weekly mockery of a journalist's work. Where do you draw the line between presenting balance or fostering personal attack?

You make a good point. i haven't followed her blog over time, just gave it a quick look. personal attack is not right under any circumstances, although bloggers do get nasty. that's the thing i dislike about the blogosphere.
