IBM On Demand Site: Blogging Means Business"

IBM_blogging.jpgIBM's On Demand Business site has posted "Blogging Means Business" a series of interviews with IBM executives Harriet Pearson, Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Chief Privacy Officer for IBM, and Willy Chiu, Vice President of High Performance On Demand Solutions, discussing the role of business blogging in the marketplace. The interviews are available in flash and non-flash versions.

The credibility issue with these executives discussing blogging: neither has a public blog. If they believe in the value of blogging, why aren't they doing it?

B.L. I hear you and I think it is a good question to ask. However, I think a good analogy might be this. Do you think that a person can be a great book publisher or editor without having authored their own book? I think so.

I happen to know these 2 people personally and Harriet is an incredibly smart blog leader for IBM. I know from personal experience that when you cross the line a bit in your blog, rather than chastise, she just reminds you where the line is and helps you find your way. Willy is one of the most refreshingly forward thinking innovative minds I've ever come across. So, maybe because I know them, I'm happy to have them leading blogging innovation and thought in IBM. Can they do that without having their own blogs - I think so. Would it be great to read blogs from Harriet and Willy - of course it would. I'll work on getting them blogging.
