Tracking the Conversation Seed About the Impending Sale of Technorati

Matthew Hurst is studying the way various blog search engines and trending tools are tracking the rumor I started -- that Technorati is about to be sold to one of the big search engines -- is spreading through blogs worldwide. He tracks the conversation seed, and notes that, besides me, those who have amplified the rumor also have had traffic spikes to their blogs. Like him, no doubt.

Technorati's servers were overloaded several times on Friday when I tracked the conversation, but that's one of the reasons Technorati needs the resources of a bigger company. They have the right idea about tracking, and they clearly need an infusion of cash to make it work. Developing.
