Online Marketers Still Can't Get No Respect, But They're Making Tons of Money
An article in MarketingVox says that online marketers have not regained the status they lost after the 2000 crash. But now, "in the second Internet boom," there's a great spike in demand for experienced online pros. As big companies jump into online marketing, a dearth of marketers with online experience and skills are forcing salaries and fees higher again.
The article also points out that students at major universities are still choosing traditional marketing over interacrive studies, leading to a continuing shortage of creative talent with online experience and knowledge.
With 10 years of Internet marketing experience and - like everyone else I talk to - picking and choosing among great projects, all I can say is gee, that's too bad. :>)
