Dell Finally Responds to Blogger Complaints

Dell has finally reacted to Dell Hell. Dell's PR person says they are changing their policy about bloggers. Instead of ignoring bloggers and refusing to respond on blogs, Dell spokeswoman Jennifer Davis tells Shankar Gupta in Online Media Daily that they are going to monitor blogs. And when they see a problem crop up, she says, they will contact the blogger directly to try to resolve it.

"Obviously, Mr. Jarvis' experience could've been handled better," Davis said.

Jeez, they finally answer and it's in classical PRese. Probably took them weeks of meetings to get that response through legal.

Jarvis, who finally got a refund on his lemon Dell laptop, entitles his blog post "Dell Learns a Lesson."

Hi, I recently set up a Dell complaint forum.
I think it would be helpful to other customers if you can post your complaint/opinion in the forum.
The Website is

www.ydell.com

Thanks.

I am a support tech, and just wanted to let anyone know that has a Dell, it's not just one model of the inspiron has the system board failure!! I have had many customers with that same "unknown" power issue. Listen everyone... If the power light comes on when you plug it in and you turn the laptop over and push the battery test button (the green lights light up), then its the system board.. Not the power supply or the battery!!!! Dell is a complete POS. I have yet to have a good dependable Dell laptop come my way. I recommend HP!! Remember, computers are like cars.. You pay for what you get! Just like cars too, you always want to get that extended warranty.. I'm sure no one wants a car with a one year warranty?? Remember how much your paying for your laptop! Is it worth throwing away in one year?????

I am sending this from my Mac at work. I recently bought a Dell with the new Windows Vista setup, and it's been pretty much a disaster. Are there other Dell home users out there who regularly experience start up problems, mysterious viruses that can't be fixed, internet inconsistencies, and long long long waits for even longer telephone calls to techs in south Asia who barely speak English? Just curious. Next time, I'm following my quality sense and not my cheap impulse and will be buying a Mac for home, too.
