AP: Golly Gee, Them Bloggers Are Lobbying the Establishment for Freedom
An AP story, "Bloggers Go Mainstream to Fight Regulation" shows that the venerable news bureau is pretty clueless about blogging.
"WASHINGTON - Are bloggers going mainstream? Web log founders who built followings with anti-establishment postings are now lobbying the establishment to try to fend off government regulation. Some are even working with a political action committee, lawyers and public-relations consultants to do it."
Doh! AP seems to still be assuming that blogs an underground phenomenon, not a valid medium. Even though there are now 53 million blogs, some with 80 million page views a month.
Wake up dead tree journalists: bloggers are kicking in your stall. And golly gee, we even use lawyers and political action committees to defend our freedom of speech.
