ABC Has a Hit with Ballroom Dancing Show -- Everything Old is New Again
MediaPost's TV Watch reports that ABC TV's "Dancing With the Stars" earned respectable ratings in the 18-49 category this week. The show featured "'B' and 'C' list stars dancing the waltz and cha-cha-cha with professional ballroom dancers" and being rated on their skills.
"What is old is new again -- and that gets old-style high ratings." TV Watch says.
I spend about 10 hours a week learning and practicing Savoy Lindy and Samba. I'd love to see more people learn to dance. Silly or not, dancing on TV in prime time is priceless marketing for dance studios. Cool.
