Give Me the Five W's Any Day -- And Include Your Notes

A lot of bloggers like the idea of blogs and main stream media posting the entire notes of their interviews. I do too, but only as background in addition to a story. The skill of journalists and bloggers is shown when they summarize the important details of an interview. For example, I got much more from Dan Gillmor's post on Walter Mossberg's interview with Bill Gates than I did from Tim O'Reilly's notes.

The recipe for good blogging is solid facts plus pointed analysis.

Reading a blog without analysis is like watching someone else's Google search.

Reading a blog without facts is... LiveJournal.

the key to any good writing is analysis. sure every writer has a slant, but that's why we read them. i like the idea of including the reporter/blogger's notes so we can see what the slant is, but i don't want to read only the notes.
