Captain Morgan Run Launches Lame Fake Blog

captain_morgan.png Captain Morgan's Rum, has a lame fake blog, most likely from an ad agency.

Diageo, maker of Captain Morgan, has been accused of marketing to underage drinkers. Although visitors are asked to verify that they are old enough to drink, the content of the blog panders to young drinkers.

How about a blog about responsible driving? There are lots of ways that could be fun. I'm available to consult on the project.

Er, where's the blog. I can't seem to find it. Am I missing something?

In the last two weeks I have been speaking to a (private, not company) blogger who works for Diageo, bemoaning the fact that their ad agencies are preparing fake blogs and have no clue about what blogging is. I also spoke to a creative from a big ad agency that is creating such faux blogs asking for advice. I guess we knew it was coming, brace yerself and hope that'll get what they deserve from the blogosphere.
