Edelman PR, the No. 1 Independent PR firm, has just launched a re-designed website and promotional materials with the theme "Independent thinking." The site features an invisible-to-search-engines Flashturbation home page, indicating that search engine optimization is not among their specialties.
Research apparently isn't Edelman's forte either, since Widmeyer Communications of Washington, DC, has used the Independent Thinking theme on its site and promo materials since 2000.
Widmeyer uses independent thinking as a tagline line on its National Public Radio ads in New York and D.C.
search "public relations firm" and they are #1 listed firm just below 2 listings for prfirms.org.
they're use of flash while large on the homepage is big but not a flash intro. like the old fashturbation sites. this type is not being called a FMA or Flexible Messaging Area (a macromedia term).
They have plain HTML text on the page which can get indexed by search engines. also, they have so many links to them from other sites that bumps them up way high.
what do people think of these FMA's?
