9/11 Commission Hires Edelman PR for Media Campaign
In a most interesting use of PR, The 9/11 Commission has hired Edelman PR Worldwide to generate political support for its recommendations on how to beef up U.S. defenses against terrorism.
No word on the size of the budget or who's paying the fee.
The agency will conduct an ongoing media campaign pairing the Commissioners two-by-two -- one Republican and Democrat -- to talk to the media and government officials about the need to put its recommendations into place. The pairing is to maintain the bi-partisan nature of the 9/11 Commission, according to O'Dwyer.
The Edelman team reports to Al Felzenberg, the Commissionís deputy for communications.
The commission's report is Number One on Amazon and has been since it was released.
