Burger King Has Fun With Subservient Chicken Viral Campaign

Subservient_Chicken.bmpBurger King seems to be having big fun with a viral marketing campaign for Subservient Chicken. This shows that they're serious about doing it your way, and also that their ad agency is seriously deranged. I love that in an agency. :>)

The site consists of a guy in a chicken suit, complete with garter belt, (???) who will do anything you tell it to, as long as it's not x-rated. It's got a repertoire of over 300 actions, including dance, summersault, skip, lay an egg, clean the room. But it won't strip or masturbate.

According to Snopes.com and news reports it was developed by Miami-based ad agencyCrispin, Porter + Bogusky for Burger King.

UPDATE: Launched last Wednesday, the Subservient Chicken site racked up a million hits in the first 24 hours, and between 15 million and 20 million hits so far, according to Crispin Porter & Bogusky, the advertising agency responsible for the site, according to Wired, which takes the strange view that the site is a take-off on porn site cams. Jeez. I think it's just good fun.

There's also a very weird subservient chicken photo gallery and a subservient chicken mask (instructions: "1. Cut along dotted line. 2. Put on chicken face. 3. Be subservient")

A list of things Subservient Chicken will and won't do

Says Snopes, "Since "Have it your way" is a famous Burger King motto (and registered trademark) ... it only makes sense for Burger King to offer "chicken the way you want it" as well."

Thanks to adrants for the tip
