The Russian Cab Driver View of Freedom

When asked whether he enjoyed the freedoms inherent in living in the United States, a Russian cab driver who has been in New York for 20 years told me: "Sure, you're free to talk all you want about the government. But it's all bullshit because absolutely nothing changes.The government doesn't care what you say. That's why you're free to say it."
