NYC Hospitals in Bed With Advertisers

gowipes.gifThe New York Post reports that New York City's businessman mayor is at it again. Beginning this summer, the City has made a deal to let 20 New York City hospitals feature 2500 indoor electronic ad banners. Ads also will be placed on garbage cans, hospital clocks and in garages. While ads won't be in patient rooms, they will be in hospital lobbies, admitting areas and elevator banks on nearly every patient floor, including pediatric and surgical floors ó but not on psychiatric floors, according to the Health and Hospitals Corp. (I guess they don't want to disturb the crazy people any further.)

So who gets the ad on the inside of the bed pans? Sounds like a great place for Preparation H ads. And instead of counting backwards as you slip under anesthesia, can't you imagine counting the number of pepperoni pieces on a slice of Pizza Hut pizza?

A contract should surely go to GoGorilla Media, which was founded with the mission to "overwhelm consumers with advertising messages as they go about their daily lives." They'll imprint anything from fake money to sugar packets to toilet paper (GoWipes, pictured) to urinal splash guards with advertising messages.

Thanks to Morry Galonoy for the tip
