Reporting on funding by Alan Patricof’s Greycroft Partners for Rafat Ali’s PaidContent blog, Nick Wingfield at the Wall St. Journal took the requisite shot against bloggers:

“The financing, though small in comparison with most Web deals, is one of several in recent weeks that indicate optimism on the part of early-stage investors in the viability of blogs as an outlet for journalism, rather than the gossip and personal opinion that characterizes much of the medium.”

At least we bloggers tell our readers when we are offering our opinions. Unlike maninstream media, we don’t pretend to be objective when offering what really is our own view of a set of facts. That’s one of the reasons people read blogs.
