Virtually no NHL players use full shields (some of them wear visors, but no one wears masks or cages).
However, I agree that Chris Simon should be tossed out for good.
While I can appreciate people making the request, until the “no fog” models stop fogging, for sure, the shields aren’t going to become ubiquitous (unless the league says so), and cages definitely won’t. Plus, the half-shield wouldn’t have made all the difference here. Playing without a shield is just that much different than with, hence the bulk of players – even those who have played decades with – won’t / don’t wear them.
