Moveable Type is playing with blogger's heads. The tools for formatting blog posts were on the right side of the MT interface until the new version was launched last week. You want to make something bold, you highlight it and click the "B" on the top right, etc.

NOW, in the latest version of MT, the formatting tools are on the left side. Muscle memory causes us to keep pointing to the where the tools used to be. Makes us feel like we have three thumbs. What earthly reason could there be for so silly a change?
As for other changes, they don’t seem to be a big deal, and the spam filter still sucks. That’s the one thing that really needs to be much better because dealing with all the freaking spammers is such a colossal waste of time and energy.

BL,
FWIW, WordPress has a great (free) anti-spam plugin called Spam Karma, which works almost perfectly.
And WordPress was a superior blogging tool even when both WP and MT were free. (I know, because I switched several blogs from MT to WP back then.) By most accounts, WP is still superior, and is now infinitely cheaper. And the developer community (and therefore the amount of flexibility) for WordPress is enormous.
I don’t know what’s keeping you on Movable Type, but you may want to consider reconsidering.
